Neurosurgeons are mad crazy guys
Neurosurgeons are mad crazy guys. You may love them, you may hate them, but its very difficult to ignore them.
They are known for their rudeness, alpha male behavior, and hard work. They are considered to be sturdy people who can carry on 12 to 14 hours of surgery without complaining about it. They are never laissez-faire. They are usually the ones who carry out the tough tasks in the toughest of the times. They are known for yelling on the residents and on their colleagues if the things are not as per their requirement. Sometimes they are considered impatient too because they have a short window of time to save any patient’s life especially with the neurosurgeons dealing with the trauma in the emergency cases. They’re considered to be always ready to operate even when the anesthetics and the other show some resistance in those cases. People think that their demands are sometimes overwhelming, but believe me it is never a personal issue because most of them actually put patients before themselves. They have little patience for any kind of nonsense. If you ask any anesthetist, they will tell you that neurosurgeons are the most non-considerate nosey people in the world as they try to operate at any hour of the day and night. They would explain that for them, everything is an emergency, and it has to be done then and there. If you ask a neurologist, he will tell that neurosurgeon just wants to operate on anything that is alien to the brain. If you ask a hospital staff, he would say that they are the most resourceful people, and they will get the work done if you are not able to get them by any chance. If you ask any hospital assistant, they will tell you that they are the people who come first and leave last. You can find them anytime, anywhere in the hospital. In the first instance, nearly everyone agrees to the point that these people are hard-working, smart, and intelligent people but on the flip side, arrogant, loud, and party goer. Everyone acknowledges that they are overburdened most of the time and have one of the greatest egos in the world , but we love them. When you work in this field where for most of the disorders, “any delay in the treatment is denial of the treatment”, you start developing an attitude of no nonsense. if you find us sometimes arrogant and noisy, it's not for ourselves it's for the patient we handle. As we handle the brain, which is perhaps the most unforgiving structure of the whole body. For everyone else coming to the operation theatre might be a routine as a health professional but for a patient, your work on that day is going to seal the future of that patient whatever it may be for the rest of his life. There is no scope for reversing your mistakes. Its always now or never. Among the whole streams of the medicine, neurosurgeons are the most God fearing people because despite so much advancement in the field of neurosciences, the brain is still enigma. Sometimes results are not as per the expectations, sometimes they are much better than your expectations. We always try to the best of our craft and knowledge, but we are passionate for our job...... and we deserve respect for this.
